Solomon Katz

Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute

Solomon Katz is a musician and educator from Sacramento, California. From a young age Solomon was drawn to the excitement of performance and exploration of new and different musical instruments. After learning to play violin and trombone, Solomon developed his talents as a woodwind specialist on all types of clarinets, flutes and saxophones. In addition to teaching, Solomon has had the opportunity to play in many professional music ensembles, including rock bands, big band jazz orchestras, small jazz combos, concert bands, and a hip hop group. His passion for the American art form of jazz music lead Solomon to study at California State University, Northridge where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies on Alto Saxophone in 2005. In 2009 Solomon completed his teaching credential in Music Education at California State University, Long Beach and in 2018 completed a Master of Arts degree in Education from California State University, San Marcos. Currently he teaches music at three elementary schools in the Val Verde Unified School District in Perris, California.
